Outcome
A playful Halloween identity that evolved from static illustration into animation, becoming a recognisable seasonal moment across Everyman venues and channels.
The Brief
Create a Halloween campaign that embraces horror film references while staying true to Everyman’s witty, self-aware brand.
The Idea
A tongue-in-cheek take on vintage horror, set inside an Everyman screening itself. The eyes of the audience became part of the narrative, with subtle visual metaphors woven into a cinematic, slightly unsettling scene.
The Work
The motion leaned into comedic tension and jump scares through abrupt timing, sharp frame changes, and deliberately jarring sound design. The identity was extended across snack pots, popcorn boxes, and digital carousel assets, with horror references subtly filtered through - from Beetlejuice-inspired costuming to Rocky Horror typography and Shining-style pattern work.
Impact
The campaign ran across Everyman venues and digital platforms over consecutive Halloween seasons, reinforcing the brand’s distinctive, playful approach to seasonal storytelling and laying the groundwork for more ambitious animated campaigns in later years.
