Overview
Client: Everyman Cinemas
Role: Art Direction, Design, Creative Direction
Year: 2023
Scope: 80-page editorial publication

Outcome
A refined, cinematic commemorative book celebrating the legacy of one of Everyman’s founding chairmen - combining personal storytelling with a meticulously crafted editorial design that reflects the brand at its most considered.
The Brief
To mark a significant anniversary, Everyman wanted a lasting artefact that honoured the chairman’s influence on the company’s culture and visual identity. The publication needed to feel deeply personal while remaining unmistakably Everyman - elegant, cinematic, and timeless.
The Idea
The concept drew inspiration from classic Hollywood and mid-century film culture - a personal passion of the chairman. The aim was to create a book that felt less like a corporate tribute and more like a cinematic editorial piece, balancing emotional storytelling with disciplined, thoughtful design.
The Work
Curated and designed an 80-page publication featuring reflections from 40+ colleagues. Developed a refined editorial system rooted in Everyman’s visual language. Carefully crafted typography throughout, with close attention to hierarchy, paragraph styling, rag, kerning, and tracking. Balanced emotional content with clean, confident layouts to ensure clarity and restraint. Oversaw the publication from concept through to final production
The Impact
The book became a meaningful internal artefact, celebrating decades of creativity, leadership, and culture through the voices of the people behind the brand. It stands as a lasting tribute - emotionally resonant, visually refined, and a clear demonstration of how considered design can honour legacy and tell a powerful human story.
